How to Learn English

In the 21st century, the world has become a global village. Due to the revolution of transportations, international interactions such as cultural contact or industrial cooperation have been much more frequent. To communicate well while doing these activities, mastery of language is required. Since English is currently the most useful and I’m a decent learner of it, let me tell you how to learn English well.

The first thing you should pay attention to is the lecture in school. Teachers are like walking dictionaries. Concentrate in class and ask what you don’t know, and you’ll find it beneficial doing so.

If you’re not so satisfied of what you’ve learned in class and are looking for materials for self-study. Magazines, broadcasts and radio programs are easily accessible. For myself, I prefer the Advanced Studio Classroom and its magazines. Innovative topics and the relaxing atmosphere while listening, that’s what I really like.

Another effective while somewhat controversial method is going abroad. As we all know, it’s impossible to learn nothing while surroundings are all related to English, just like cloth cannot stay dry when steeped in water. The proponents also suggest that we should practice it the earlier, the better because children are the best learners. However, once you’ve made the decision to do so, vexing problems emerges: Do you have enough money? Where to take a rest when everybody goes home? How to find your feet in the new country? How to keep up with the progress in other subjects when back? Such things can drive you crazy if you aren’t able to handle them well.

There is no shortcut while speaking of learning English, but there are several ways to achieve you goal. All roads lead to Rome, so choose your path and sprint all the way to success!
